Q: What services are available throughout the UK?
A: Next day delivery can be made to anywhere within the UK excluding AB, DD, IV, KW PA20+ and PH postcodes. All of our depots throughout the UK have taillift facility, but they are not on all vehicles please advise us that the delivery point needs a taillift to ensure there are no problems at the delivery point.
Q: How can I view my Proof of Delivery when my goods have been delivered?
A: All POD’s are sent back to the sender each week with there weekly invoice, if you need the proof of delivery urgently it can be viewed on our website the Next Working Day. For more information please call our IT Department, who will set you up with a username and password to access the your P.O.D’s.
Q: If I need my goods storing for a period of time what can CJE offer?
A: CJE have over 36,000 Sq Feet of storage available to all of our customers, for more information please speak to our sales department for a quotation.
Q: Can CJE deliver outside of the UK?
A: Yes, not only do we offer UK deliveries but we also have an Irish service available and we can deliver to all EU countries and many of the Non EU countries. For more information please call our sales department for a quotation and delivery time schedule.
Q: How should my goods be packed and labelled for delivery?
A: All goods should be sent out in suitable packaging for the product i.e. bagged products should be protected by cardboard around the bottom of the pallet, about 2 foot high, and adequate shrink wrap to secure the goods to the pallet. All pallets should be labelled with the delivery address and any contact names and telephone numbers wherever possible. For example you wouldn’t send out a letter without the address on and the same efos should be used when sending out your palletised deliveries. If your goods are not sent out in suitable packaging for the product CJE will try wherever possible to wrap them adequately for delivery but please note that this may incur a re-wrapping charge of £10 per pallet.
Q: What happens when my next day pallet is “Held” at the hub Day 1?
A: In the unusual circumstance that your next day pallet is held at our Hub, in Coalsville Leicestershire, CJE will try and arrange delivery for later in the afternoon but if this is not available due to location or delivery point closing at 5pm then we will attempt to deliver the next working day by 10am or at a convenient time for the delivery point.
Q: What happens if my pallet arrives damaged?
A: If your goods arrive at the delivery point damaged we ask for your delivery point to sign for them damaged. If the delivery point do not sign for the items damaged the claim may be rejected by our insurance company or a £250 excess may apply. If the POD has been signed for damaged we will fax you to forms with all the information on how to proceed with a claim and process this claim. Our insurance company ask for confirmation to be sent to us within 48 hours of the delivery. Claims generally take around 3 months to process and under our conditions of carriage and insurance, invoices cannot be held pending an insurance claim.
